Michigan is historically known for being one of the biggest producers of vehicles in the country. Flint was home to one of the largest chains of vehicle production factories with General Motors. Although much of the vehicle production industry has left, the enthusiasm for cars and the culture is still thriving. It is cherished throughout a two week celebration of cars called Back to the Bricks, the name stemming from the famous red bricks seen in the city's downtown. It features vehicle shows, performances and even a cruise that stretches across three towns as proud car enthusiasts show off their rides. The culture felt in Flint shows how a community can keep their traditions alive as much as they work to keep the engines running.
